A4 Company History
The best way to get to know A4 is to understand A4’s philosophy of “Pushing the Limit”
The authentic on field product part of the “pushing the Limit” equation is an obvious nod to the merchandise we’ve been manufacturing and distributing for more than thirty years. It’s about the company offering customers the best styles with the best fit and performance, offered at the best prices. A4 currently offers strong programs for football, basketball, baseball, lacrosse, soccer, softball, PE and fleece basics.
We know (and have) what it takes to succeed in the ultra-competitive “on-field” and retail markets. Just take a look at some of the customers we’ve worked with over the years.
A4 ships product to over 9,000 retail and institutional customers in the United states and abroad. 6,000,000 athletes compete and win in our gear every day. We outfit a wide spectrum of competitors ranging from the pros to the little league in your town.
“Pushing the Limit” in the private label world
We’ve serviced some of the biggest brand names around including Adidas, And 1, Fila, New Balance, Footlocker, MC sporting goods, and Rawlings.
“Pushing the Limit” and licensing deals
Our licensing pedigree is not to be overlooked. We have merchandised, manufactured, sold and distributed active wear under licenses including Converse, ESPN, Hang Ten, the NBA, Wilson and the X-Games.
“Pushing the Limit” and customer service
It’s about being upfront and consistent with our customers. (Every single one of them. No matter how big or small.) It’s about not putting them on hold for too long. It’s about shipping an order when we say we’re going to ship an order. Taking that one step further, it’s about shipping the order out right. And last, but certainly not least, it’s about offering the best prices all the time.
“Pushing the Limit” on design
It’s about offering customers the most current designs, sport to sport. Season to season. That’s why we have a Los Angeles-based design team that includes full-time designers, pattern makers, a sewing engineer and sample makers.
“Pushing the Limit” in production
It’s about running hard and turning a quality product quickly. By operating our own cutting room in Los Angeles, we’re able to allocate production anywhere in the world and maintain continuity of fabric and specification. Whether it be on-site in our 85,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Vernon, California, in Mexico or Central America.
“Pushing the Limit” on quality
It’s about insuring that all labor and safety regulations are met. It’s also about company employees taking the time to conduct on-site QC audits on a daily basis. When production lots are received in our distribution center, they are checked in accordance with JC Penney “AQL” standards. In-depth records are maintained by cut and lot number.
All of us here at A4 strive to live by the “No games” mantra on a daily basis. As you can see, what we’re asking of ourselves is a fairly tall order. But should we succeed, we’ll continue to grow and prosper with our customers.
